Boca Grande is known as the “Tarpon Capital of the World”, and was named the “Best Tarpon Fishing Spot in Florida”, by Sport Fishing Magazine in 2024. The “World’s Richest Tarpon Tournament” takes place each year in Boca Grande, Fl.

During the height of tarpon season there can be an average of 20,000 of the “silver king” species, in the Boca Grande Pass. Additionally, there are large numbers of tarpon on the beaches and intercostal areas.

Although it has made us famous, tarpon are not the only species which draws fishermen to the area. Boca Grande is home to excellent inshore angling which includes, but is not limited to, snook, redfish, and sea trout. You’ll also find phenomenal offshore angling for species such as grouper, snapper, permit, and many others.
