Preserving our rich history and our way of life!
The general mission of the Boca Grande Fishing Guides Association is to encourage and improve the conditions and facilities available to fishermen and guides in regard to fishing in the waters surrounding Boca Grande and Gasparilla Island, Florida.
The association has been instrumental in local conservation efforts and has maintained a steadfast stance in seeking protection for our natural resources. Our organization displays a firm independence as charter fishermen in alliance with our community, and is a great display of the Boca Grande spirit.
In 2013 the BGFGA was able to make a huge impact on the preservation of the fish population with our successful efforts in banning the use of “the Boca grande jig”. This style had been popular for quite a few years and the bottom weighted lure was designed to snag and foul-hook fish. Its use was damaging to the fish population and we are proud to have been a part of removing it from use in the Boca Grande Pass.
The association supports the practice of ethical fishing in the pass and the waters surrounding Boca Grande. The Boca Grande Fishing Guides Association is dedicated and committed to the conservation of our great fishery in many different areas, ways, and aspects and we continue to work hard to make sure that generations to come can enjoy a wonderful fishing experience.
Our guides are licensed professionals who are well-versed on local fishing habitats and offer a variety of fishing methods. You’ll find traditional pass fishing, offshore, inshore, backbay, fly fishing, and light tackle! Find a guide, links to individual websites are included where available.
The organizations members strive for the protection and preservation of the Boca Grande way of fishing. We proudly announce that we are committed and will continue to make the organization the best that it can be.
